Description:

You go through the village via a shepherd‘s path up to the Grutta‘e Janas. Presumably a cult site with a stone on the ground that shows engravings. Perhaps the map of the sea routes to Sardinia, or maybe the different rivers of Supramonte, who knows... From here, you could then continue up to the pass to the viewpoint.

Tour information:

We start on the main street, Via Orientale Sarda, near the church of San Nicola di Bari. From here, we walk southeast and turn left onto Via Grazia Deledda after a few hundred meters. We reach Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, where we turn right. After about 70 meters, we take a sharp left onto Via Vittorio Emanuele. We turn right onto the second street and walk uphill until we encounter the path to the cave on the left. We follow the path over an adventurous juniper wood bridge and continue past a prominent rock formation until we reach a metal gate / door on the right. This is the path to the cave. Attention: During the off-season, the key is available at the information center. We go through the gate on the right up to the Grutta‘e Janas. The stone slab with the engravings is on the floor of the second cave at the edge. Please do not walk on the stone! From here, we return to the gate and then continue to the right up to the viewpoint, or return the same way to the town.
