Tortolì is the capital of the Ogliastra province in Sardinia and has a population of around 11,000 residents. The city is situated in the middle of the eastern coast of Sardinia. The village of Arbatax has merged with Tortolì, forming a large industrial port.
Today, Tortolì is also a popular tourist destination with numerous beaches to the south of the city and leisure activities. One of the most famous beaches near the city is Orrì Beach, known for its fine white sand and crystal-clear water, making it one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia. Another very beautiful beach is Cea.
For shopping enthusiasts, Tortolì offers a roughly 2km-long shopping street with many shops.
The city is also renowned for its good restaurants across all price ranges, especially for their traditional dishes made from fresh fish and seafood, often caught fresh. Tortolì boasts many restaurants and bars where you can enjoy the local cuisine.
